Stepping aboard the floating museum known as Monitor Huascar provides an important look at Chile's maritime history. Originally built by the British in 1864, this ship saw battle in the War of the Pacific, fought between Peru and Chile. Having captured the vessel during the war, Chileans turned it into a museum dedicated to fallen soldiers. Take a tour of the ship's compartments and learn about one of the most significant battles fought in this part of the world. • A good ride mostly but there is rain, this very well maintained and reflects history of Chile, highly recommended

  • ... Represents a very important part of the history of Chile and the Peru. A Santo restored and very well maintained. It is a luxury that you can visit. I recommend to dedicate the necessary time to visit to explore in detail the exterior and interior of the vessel, and be able to read each of the descriptions that are within the Museum. If there is something to criticise, I must say that access is very slow, because they have a system there that goes from the pier to the ship, accommodating up to 40 people per trip, making very long tails are generated. Because not installed a system of direct access? A retractable bridge, for example?

  • It is very interesting to know about history. A recommendation is to put guides. This well-preserved and tidy.

  • Beautiful place. Highly recommended
  • Such an old Peruvian battleship captured by Chilean navy in the 1800's, actually is a beautiful museum that commemorates the Iquique naval battle and the internationally acknowledged heroism of Captain Arturo Prat and his men who died at the main deck during battle, a "must to visit" being in Talcahuano
  • This is a have to visit place if you go to Concepción.
  • Is well care.
