Enjoy panoramic views of Santiago at San Cristóbal Hill. The hill rises 300 m (984 ft) above the city, and its slopes form the city's largest park. Wander the shady, green paths, take a stroll through the Japanese garden, see the animals in the zoo, or take a cooling dip in one of two municipal pools. At the summit look for a sanctuary dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, which includes an amphitheater for holding religious ceremonies and a 22 m (72 ft) statue of the Virgin Mary. Pickpockets and thieves sometimes operate in the park, especially during business hours when tourists make up the majority of visitors. Our Santiago trip planner makes visiting San Cristóbal Hill and other Santiago attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Riding the gondola to the top of Cerro San Cristobal gave great views of the neighborhoods surrounding the area. The art and statute at the top were fun to see.

There are hiking routes that zigzag to the top, but they are unsafe, due to a spate of armed robberies. Exploring the park on foot is only safe on weekends
