Parque O'Higgins represents a vast public park and favorite gathering place in the capital city. Inaugurated in 1873 by entrepreneur Luis Cousino, the park was later named in honor of Chilean independence leader Bernardo O’Higgins. Explore the 80 hectare (190 acre) park, filled with trees, lush green vegetation, and picnic spots where locals gather for barbecue and drinks. Rent a paddleboat at the lake, visit the largest amusement park in Chile, view the imposing Movistar arena, or spend your time jogging, swimming, roller skating, or taking part in many of the other recreational activities available.   • This park is one of the largest in Santiago but in reality isn't all that green. The centre of it had a massive military marching area with a large stand, as well as a theme park. Couldn't find any be...  more »
  • Like parks and status or not, it's really worth paying your respects to this exceptional man by visiting here. Easily found and very picturesque as well  more »
  • Came here with my family on a saturday and it was perfect for my cousins and also if you want to read a bookn on the grass. Also picnic-friendly so bring food with you and enjoy the nature!  more »
