Art Museum Museum
In an effort to welcome and preserve diverse cultural trends and promote ongoing discussion and reflection in all areas of human knowledge, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo - Quinta Normal boasts a collection of over 2,500 items of modern and contemporary art. The museum strives to narrow the gap between the public and new artistic impression with its collection of prints, paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Two separate buildings divide the museum--a neoclassical building from 1910 and an early 20th-century French-style building, dubbed 'Versailles Palace.' • Fabulous building and some good art to review. No charge to enter and well worth a visit. There is no coffee shop or souvenir shop which was a disappointment.  more »
  • The museum is supposed to open during the week at 11 a.m. Was not open by 11:30! Located at back of Fine Art Museum.  more »

  • Nice building, close to other museums/galleries and located in a beautiful park.
  • Keep trying, but my sensitivity or lack thereof does not allow me to appreciate things like: an all white room with a projection repeatedly playback a minimalist edge of the wall. To which you want to give a deep meaning, and purpose. To me it can have any meaning; including any, which most likely me. As usual the show is who actually does art, architecture and the garden. Here many travelers mistake the MAC with the Academy of fine arts, absolutely nothing to do with each other, in collection, location, architecture and proposal.
