Los Dominicos Handicraft Village, Santiago

4.0
Browse a range of locally made souvenirs at Los Dominicos Handicraft Village, a popular shopping area in one of Santiago's most historic neighborhoods. Named after the area's eponymous church, the "village" is home to nearly 200 colonial-style adobe (clay brick) stores. The wide-ranging traditional goods sold there include sculptures, paintings, jewelry, copper cookware, woodcarvings, and leather items. The district also hosts regular artist workshops and cultural events such as painting exhibitions, theater shows, musical concerts, and traditional dance performances. Pick up a few handmade souvenirs and try the neighborhood's famed beef empanadas, which makes an ideal snack. Make Los Dominicos Handicraft Village a centerpiece of your Santiago vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Santiago trip planning website .

  • Varied handicraft Centre. Prices are mostly more expensive, but the variety and mainly the quality of many items, better than diamonds places. Many things just v there. On weekends, get there early because the parking lot fills up and it's hard to stop. Or take the Metro (I think the best option).
