Browse a range of locally made souvenirs at Los Dominicos Handicraft Village, a popular shopping area in one of Santiago's most historic neighborhoods. Named after the area's eponymous church, the "village" is home to nearly 200 colonial-style adobe (clay brick) stores. The wide-ranging traditional goods sold there include sculptures, paintings, jewelry, copper cookware, woodcarvings, and leather items. The district also hosts regular artist workshops and cultural events such as painting exhibitions, theater shows, musical concerts, and traditional dance performances. Pick up a few handmade souvenirs and try the neighborhood's famed beef empanadas, which makes an ideal snack.
