Where to stay in Santiago

Santiago features numerous distinct neighborhoods filled with affordable sleeping options. For easiest access to the city's top museums and eateries, consider the hotels located in the pleasant downtown area, where you can also find many furnished apartments ideal for longer stays. For close proximity to the city's best nightlife options, consider Bellavista or Barrios Lastarria, or head to charming Providencia if you prefer something a bit more sophisticated and less raucous.

  • Just an average market, but that does not mean it's not worth a visit. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies, clothes and local eateries.  more »

  • If you want to buy the vegitables at santiago, you should visit Vega Central. All of ghem are fresh and price competitive.
  • Local restaurant owners go buying their fruits here. It's very busy and cool to see. It's also not very touristic. Definitely recommended to go in the morning, because there's more going on and the good fresh fruit won't be sold out. The actual market is behind the first building, try to avoid the 'tourist catcher market'
  • Here you can find all sort of fruits, vegetables, cheese and meat to buy at good prices. Also kitchenware, plastic food containers, non perishable items can be found. During the week is usually cheaper than weekends, and prices can vary highly between merchants. Cash is mandatory. Go with time, be prepared to walk a lot and bring a cart of some sort. They sell there too if you don't have one. There are payed restrooms (nothing too fancy) and parking spots, which are usually full.
  • Best place in Santiago to buy fresh food and vegetables. It will take several trips to go through it all. Big and well stocked with inside parking if you want to pay. Prices are good and quality too.
  • a traditional place in Stgo. It's so so cheap. There is a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits.
