  • It is a market friendly and much more popular than the Central market. It is located a few blocks from the latter and is more for the inhabitant of the city than the Central market where it is more prepared for tourism. If you like the typical and authentic will probably like more East. Regalame your vote

  • If you like eating and cooking or want to save on your purchases, I recommend you go to the Vega unit. There are a wide variety of fruits and vegetables among other products, half price than a supermarket and with greater variety. I recommend to visit it even being tourist (eye with personal belongings). The colors, scents, variety of products are amazing.

  • In addition to museums, countless wineries in Santiago there is another very interesting place to visit-mandatory La Vega. Light #1: come early in the morning, they open up at 4 am! Or closer to closure. Firstly, not many people and secondly, closer to the closure they all sell very cheaply. Tip #2: come better at the Metro. The market is situated very close to the station of the Patronato. By car option too, but may have problems with parking. Tip #3: advance buy small bag on wheels or cart. Or you can buy it on the spot-5,000 pesos. It is very convenient and I doubt that you depart from there with two tomatoes. Retrieved! Tip #4: do not buy immediately, as soon as always in the back. Look around, go around the market. For example, in the central part of the melon is worth 800 pesos, and towards the end you can buy two for 1,000 pesos. And of course don't forget to bargain!

  • Some great and cheap fried empanadas in the food square in the middle of the market. The fruit juice stand right next to it serves great mango juice too. Good place for some fresh fruits too.
  • You get better prices than your local supermarkets. You can pretty much find anything here. Go early to find better selections and a parking space. Some areas are not so clean so be positive.
  • Beautiful place to visit. Also nice to try the little restaurants inside. Very 'local' experience.
  • Ok, this is one of the best places to do groceries downtown. Prerequisites: go in comfortable clothes - bring a bag with wheels - bring cash - be prepared to go through small corridors with a lot of people around. You need like a Zen pill but it worth it 😆
  • It is the most important place in Santiago to buy fresh and cheap products. It is a historic place, with lots of energy, that place is crazy but if you go you will not regret it.
