Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania, Santiago

(4.4/5 based on 3,200+ reviews on the web)
Admire the architecture and the works of art at Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania. Both the plaza and the gallery underneath it were constructed as part of a nationwide program celebrating the 200th anniversary of Chilean independence. The former parking lot of the presidential palace was transformed into a wide plaza, and the multi-storey gallery was built to host some of the most important art exhibitions in Chile, as well as the National Film Archive and the Digital Library. The gallery showcases both classical and contemporary art from all over the world, with a full schedule of exhibits available online.
