Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania, Santiago

4.4
Admire the architecture and the works of art at Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda y Plaza de la Ciudadania. Both the plaza and the gallery underneath it were constructed as part of a nationwide program celebrating the 200th anniversary of Chilean independence. The former parking lot of the presidential palace was transformed into a wide plaza, and the multi-storey gallery was built to host some of the most important art exhibitions in Chile, as well as the National Film Archive and the Digital Library. The gallery showcases both classical and contemporary art from all over the world, with a full schedule of exhibits available online. • It is an underground cultural space located below the Palacio de la Moneda. You can freely enter free of charge to see your samples every day before 1 pm. It is very interesting and a visit must in downtown Santiago. Regalame your vote

  • The exposed material is beautiful. We had the opportunity to know the art of the Mapuche people, the residents of the island of Chloè ... beautiful! There was also a small exhibition about the graphic art, beautiful and with curious details. There was still in the lower floors, cinema room and space for temporary exhibitions (was being disassembled a on Rome. We were unable to visit). But most of the space is occupied by shops that sell handicrafts and coffee shops (3, huge!). All very clean and organized. But I would have found more art and culture.

  • We love the place, but I found a little troubled place, probably because of the day that we were, there was exposure and a fair very interesting archaeological, I recommend if you have time to spare.

  • Visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was very quiet. There is a shop selling handicrafts that looked very interesting. Unfortunately we were going on elsewhere so I was unable to buy.
  • Beautiful space for expositions. Free before 12:00. There is a nice place for children to entertain themselves and learn at the same time as well as a natural shop with food, beauty and skin care products, and some local spices.
  • Easily accessible. There can be multiple events or expositions concurrently so this can be a long visit. Parking is EXPENSIVE! Go by public transportation or other means if possible.
  • Great space for kids to play. Huge underground space for exhibitions and so cleverly hidden under the square above. Fully accessible.
  • Great place to visit if you have spare time in Santiagom art. food. relax enviroment
