Centro Cultural Estacion Mapocho represents an old railway station that has been repurposed as a cultural venue. Built in 1913, the structure was one of several buildings that were erected to celebrate Chile’s first centenary. Once an important hub of rail travel in the country, the imposing building was declared a National Monument in 1976 and restored as a cultural center in 1994. Visit the station to observe its ornate facade, or explore the interior which often holds cultural events, such as art exhibitions, music performances, and the annual Santiago Book Fair. • All kinds of artistic inspirations can be found in this historic building and today I found a sample of the art of the India.Los rather high prices but it is possible for the quality of the components in metals and precious stones. Interesting.

  • There were signs advertising some interesting photographic exhibitions but we seemed to have arrived during a two-week break for them. We could still walk into the front section and admire the arches ...  more »
  • The Mapocho Cultural Center is one of the happier examples of recycling of buildings, or should I say a new use for a building which fell into disuse. That huge ship from where departed and arrived trains beyond Santiago, today is a lively Cultural Center, in constant supply of quality exhibitions and many other activities that have to do with Chilean art and literature. Attentive to every last Sunday of the month they organize tours of heritage areas of Santiago.

  • Beautiful and historic building with intricate carvings and paintings. Colonial style building and ambience. Neat and clean surroundings.
  • Really beautiful! Interested to see the bases of the columns, how they appear designed to absorb seismic activity.
  • This is the place of big conventions in Santiago, it is a 1903 metal and stone building, originally owned by the State Railways company. Finishing remodelationa modeled in 1994 to become a convention center. It is located at the historical downtown of Santiago, near many interesting spots for tourists, parks, markets - Mercado central - and popular fairs, la Vega, as well as the remodelationa of the Pergola, where you can buy flowers and visit the general cemetery.
  • Have been here for large events like Sensation White and also FILSA (Feria International del Libro Santiago) and love this space. It’s huge and beautiful - love the ceilings.
  • You need to know this place. So Historic!
