Centro Artesanal Santa Lucia, Santiago

3.9
#11 of 77 in Shopping in Santiago
Wander through Centro Artesanal Santa Lucia, a city street market specializing in handcrafted local items and souvenirs. This central market opens all day and sits just opposite Cerro Santa Lucia Park. The stalls radiate with bold bright colours and items hang chaotically on display. Shade cloths and an abundance of tall plants on the walkways provide for a pleasant shopping environment. Typical items include leather goods, woollen clothing, jewellery, shoes, and items made of copper. Don't expect to barter too much as the prices are fixed. Some stalls accept different currencies. • Indicated as the main center of Santiago and craft we meet ... We didn't find much to buy or bring a gift. There are several shops, but nothing too different. We brought a few things because you cannot find anything very indicative of the city, in the country.

  • Craft fair with good prices. Most of the tents credit/debit cards accepted.

  • Gallery with dozens of shops where you can find cheap souvenirs. I thought it was worth it. It is opposite the Cerro Santa Lucia.

  • Perfect place for picking up gift items.. nice place ..many shops and price also reasonable..l spend around 1 and half hrs and it was very good
  • Good place for souvenirs. We have bought shoes from one of the vendors on three different trips and my wife is always being asked where she got them. They are very unique to Chile.
  • Little stores with no English and pushy service (buy buy buy) Be careful you can be ripped off from vendors. They will give you FAKE BILLS! Unacceptable!
  • Great prices for local handicrafts, especially knit alpaca goods and copper & Lapis Lazuli jewelry
  • I think it's expensive, although I understand owners take advantage since it's a touristic place. Right in front of Cerro Santa Lucía. Good place for souvenirs, handmade clothes and other stuff...

Where to stay in Santiago

Santiago features numerous distinct neighborhoods filled with affordable sleeping options. For easiest access to the city's top museums and eateries, consider the hotels located in the pleasant downtown area, where you can also find many furnished apartments ideal for longer stays. For close proximity to the city's best nightlife options, consider Bellavista or Barrios Lastarria, or head to charming Providencia if you prefer something a bit more sophisticated and less raucous.
