Valle Arcoiris, San Pedro de Atacama
(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Travel the valley to see eye-catching rock formations of differing, vibrant colors at Valle Arcoiris. Pathways trail through the valley, offering you views of various rock structures on and around the mountain. Due to mineral deposits in the soil, the rocks hold clearly defined color variations, so the mountainprojects a rainbow-like appearance. Take a tour or rent a car to visit this natural attraction. If you would like to have the area to yourself, visit during the afternoon when the site has the fewest tourists. There are no restrooms in the area, and you will need to take your own food and water with you. Our San Pedro de Atacama holiday planner makes visiting Valle Arcoiris and other San Pedro de Atacama attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Actually, my mom liked it more than I, due to her professional training. But, I can't deny that was cute and nice to see mountains with so many differences in colour at the same time. And on the way the guide will showing typical plants and wild animals. It was funny, because some argentinas that were in the Group found that the site was to observe a rainbow of truth and no mountains that look like a.

  • There are few people who visit this site and unfortunately most will choose to drive alone, without Guide, which gives the feeling of being a dull ride. I did my walk by the agency that have highly qualified guides Ayllu and the best, some speak Portuguese. The region has an incredible story, a huge amount of rocks of various types and components. The height of the ride without a doubt are the Rupestrian paintings which my guide detailed the time and type of each stroke. Just a history lesson in the middle of the desert.
