Valle Arcoiris, San Pedro de Atacama
(4.3/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Travel the valley to see eye-catching rock formations of differing, vibrant colors at Valle Arcoiris. Pathways trail through the valley, offering you views of various rock structures on and around the mountain. Due to mineral deposits in the soil, the rocks hold clearly defined color variations, so the mountainprojects a rainbow-like appearance. Take a tour or rent a car to visit this natural attraction. If you would like to have the area to yourself, visit during the afternoon when the site has the fewest tourists. There are no restrooms in the area, and you will need to take your own food and water with you. Our San Pedro de Atacama holiday planner makes visiting Valle Arcoiris and other San Pedro de Atacama attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Tour normally which includes the Rainbow Valley, also has in the route to petroglyphs and herbs good. The good news is that it starts at 8. It starts with good grass and petroglyphs where you learn more about the flora of the area and can see the drawings on the rocks (petroglyphs). The tour ends with the Valley Rainbow where you can see the different minerals that make up the mountains and learn more about the geological formations in the area. The price of the tour round the 20,000 Chilean pesos and the park entrance ticket 3000 Chilean pesos.

  • Excursions with the Flamingo Agency, have led us to the extraordinary, sublime and breathtaking landscapes of Piedras Rojas, Valley of the Moon, geysers del Colo and valle arcoiris. The professional and human skills of our weary guide and our driver Mauro have contributed to make these discoveries THE highlight of our trip. I really recommend!

  • As its name suggests, the hills are multiple and beautiful colors, due to the different minerals that compose them. It gives for a hike of 1-2 km of downhill, tirelessly important since it is not higher than San Pedro. At the bottom of the Valley there are a few narrow passages of brownstones. At the low end, there are a few curious rock formations by the erosion of the wind and occasional over millions of years water. It is a tour that passes by the petroglyphs located to few kms. It's worth the time.
