We were during the month of August the place is in the middle of nowhere, which makes it mystical and marvelous, Wells temperature although but not as hot as one expected. I recommend to visit, bring very warm clothes, and certainly something to dry the hair. The pools are warm and outside runs wind ice cream that must take warm clothing and also something to eat since it has areas for this. Must visit!

The place is very nice. They are 8 baths, of which the first, and the more warm, is reserved only for hotel explores. The water is not very thermal to say, but it's nice to know.

We stayed in San Pedro of Atacama. From there we hired a tour with the company Lickan Antay (unopened package) and follow to the 7 Lakes. Pay 9000 pesos for adults and 7000 for children. You have to take a walk (steep descent) to the lagoons. The ponds are crystal clear pleasant temperature and surrounded by vegetation. In August, we took strong winds. I suggest bringing towels to dry out and warm clothes (pants, jacket and shoes). There has to be a willingness to bear their young on the descent and ascent of return, but it was very worthwhile.

Outdoor Thermal baths which are part of a river. Each of the 8 pools are surrounded by reeds and ferns which line the rocky bathing pools. Some have waterfalls flowing into them. Temperatures range about 32oc at the hottest to a 25oc at the bottom. Some basic changing rooms with lockers available and each pool accessed by wooden walkways.

It's a great place to relax. There are some tables where you can have a picnic. The water is not that warm though.

Relaxing half day tour from San Pedro. Was a good idea to unwind from hiking. Thermal waters hover around 35 degrees C. Good way to meet some traveller pals to share a drink once back in town.

Where to stay in San Pedro de Atacama

As the stepping-stone to the nearby national reserve, San Pedro de Atacama offers an impressive range of hotels and guesthouses. Despite the big selection, prices remain relatively high throughout the year due to the town's status as northern Chile's tourist hub. At the peak of the summer season (late December to late March), some budget-friendly hostels even require single travelers to share a room with another guest. If you wish to avoid that, look into one of the hotels, many of which cluster around the town's central area and line the main street.
