From the trademark pink flamingos to salt water lagoons and scenic hiking trails, Reserva Nacional de Flamencos captures all the beauty of the Atacama Desert. Covering an area of 740 sq km (285.7 sq mi), the reserve presents a real treat for hikers and wildlife enthusiasts. In addition to the captivating views of the salt flats surrounded by mountains, salt water lakes, and one-of-a-kind geological formations, the reserve supports many rare species, such as Darwin's rhea, Andean fox, and Chilean flamingo. The grounds are divided into several sections; expect to pay separate admission fees for each one. Bear in mind that the reserve has a desert climate with temperatures that vary greatly between night and day, so always make sure to have some warm clothes on hand.   • Interesting place to visit, but need to see the season or period because the Flamingos may be migrating, can arrive and dont see any on the site. I saw 3 in the period of March

  • Grand by nature itself, surprised to find life in a place so inhospitable. In addition to the Flemish people, we can find reptiles and learn a little more about the history of the place at the headquarters of the Park.

  • Place with good scenery, if you are lucky you can see many flamingos, contrasting colors, you can visit the site at about 2 p.m.
