The truth, I didn't like much. He is supposed to be a reserve of flamingos, which in my opinion should have many, but with luck we saw 10. So not meeting that is worth so much worth knowing.

The visit is made through a well marked trail and with explanatory posters. You can see the small animals that live in salt water and that are the food of the flamingos. There is a center of information and adequate bathrooms. The sunset gives an extra ingradiente to the visit.

Where to stay in San Pedro de Atacama

As the stepping-stone to the nearby national reserve, San Pedro de Atacama offers an impressive range of hotels and guesthouses. Despite the big selection, prices remain relatively high throughout the year due to the town's status as northern Chile's tourist hub. At the peak of the summer season (late December to late March), some budget-friendly hostels even require single travelers to share a room with another guest. If you wish to avoid that, look into one of the hotels, many of which cluster around the town's central area and line the main street.
