Covering an area of 740 sq km (285.7 sq mi), the reserve presents a real treat for hikers and wildlife enthusiasts. In addition to the captivating views of the salt flats surrounded by mountains, salt water lakes, and one-of-a-kind geological formations, the reserve supports many rare species, such as Darwin's rhea, Andean fox, and Chilean flamingo. The grounds are divided into several sections; expect to pay separate admission fees for each one.
