Covering an area of 740 sq km (285.7 sq mi), the reserve presents a real treat for hikers and wildlife enthusiasts. In addition to the captivating views of the salt flats surrounded by mountains, salt water lakes, and one-of-a-kind geological formations, the reserve supports many rare species, such as Darwin's rhea, Andean fox, and Chilean flamingo. The grounds are divided into several sections; expect to pay separate admission fees for each one. Bear in mind that the reserve has a desert climate with temperatures that vary greatly between night and day, so always make sure to have some warm clothes on hand.   • It is a small pond that is inside the Salar de Atacama, an entry of $2.500 pesos will be charged. To access. You can see an important variety of birds like the Flamingo, some reptiles and small mammals. The white colour of the salar and the blue of the lagoon evidences a singular beauty.
