  • There's nothing special or different. How on the way to Laguna Tebinquiche, we stopped. Like most places in Atacama, the visual in back is wonderful! But if it doesn't stop, you're not going to lose a lot. Unless you want to venture to give a tchibum in water (cold!) ... it's fun!

  • Tourist trap: two impressive holes almost perfectly round, filled with water, in the middle of nowhere... would wow? No, holes made by the man they are, looking for something and then abandoned them, and one as a gil taking photos there. Only recommended if there are pass, get off, take some pictures if you're fine space on the camera and battery, and nothing more.

  • Just over 30 km from San Pedro de Atacama (dirt road-rípio-very good), the Ojos del Salar are "on the road". In fact the road passes between "los Ojos". Two holes are tending to a perfect circle in the middle of SALAR! The Ojos form two beautiful ponds that many end up coming in for a bath. It is worth noting that the extremely salty water and the lack of shower with fresh water after indicate that you should not do this. To get to Ojos del Salar follow until the Cejar Lagoon and, rather than enter the Cejar Park, go straight on the road sense Laguna Tebinquiche. The Ojos will be just a few metres from the entrance of Laguna Tebinquiche. Recommend leaving map offline mobile gps recorded at, although you can't lose!

Where to stay in San Pedro de Atacama

As the stepping-stone to the nearby national reserve, San Pedro de Atacama offers an impressive range of hotels and guesthouses. Despite the big selection, prices remain relatively high throughout the year due to the town's status as northern Chile's tourist hub. At the peak of the summer season (late December to late March), some budget-friendly hostels even require single travelers to share a room with another guest. If you wish to avoid that, look into one of the hotels, many of which cluster around the town's central area and line the main street.
