Laguna Tebinquinche, San Pedro de Atacama

Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.7/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web
Discover how captivating the driest place on Earth can be when you add some water to it at Laguna Tebinquinche. Unlike the other lagoons of the Atacama Desert--generally small pools of water--this is actually a proper saltwater lake, nestled under the towering peaks of the Andes. The mirrorlike surface reflects the surrounding scenery, making this spot famous for some of Chile's most beautiful sunsets. In the summer the lake tends to dry, leaving behind a thick layer of salt that you can easily walk on. Drive to the lake on your own, or join one of the many organized tours of the salt flats that regularly leave from San Pedro de Atacama. • Wonderful! Super cool ride of "noon", with wonderful landscapes. We spent before the cejar Lagoon (have to swim; it's cold ... but you floats!); then by Ojos Del Salar and, finally, the laguna tebenquiche. Perfect sunset with a snack prepared by great guide Rodrigo (pisco!!), the Andes 123. Recommend this company!
