(150+ reviews on the web)
Landmark Tourist Spot
Take a step back in time to the mesolithic era at Aldea de Tulor, an archeological site that has unveiled a settlement dating back to between 800 CE and 1,200 CE. The remains of the ancient village take the form of boreholes--circular clay walls made to collect water. Through the study of the rock layers archeologists were able to determine that the civilization disappeared due to drought. Artifacts found on the site include human and animal bones, ceramic, carbon, seashells, and rocks. Reproductions of houses help visitors fully appreciate what the village once looked like. • It's 7k from the town square. It's got its beauty but it's not a must see if you're not that much into archeology.
  • A simple but interesting place to visit nearby the town if you like archaeology. You can access by foot, car o bike.
  • Lovely park with interpreter's center at Atacameno archaeological site.
  • It's OK, but I think I'll rather spend my time somewhere else
  • Intriguing history..but not so much left to see as to the dwellings.Impressive setting in the Atacama..some displays about its history also interesting behind the entrance.
