Solo Expediciones, Punta Arenas

(4.2/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web)
Two islands off the coast of the city, Solo Expediciones feature prime viewing spots for penguins and sea lions. Several boat tour companies offer different options to visit the islands together, or you can choose to see just one or the other. Alternatively, for a lower price tourists can board the regular ferry for a five-hour round-trip, including one hour on the island. On Magdalena Island, scope out the sight of a large Magellanic penguin colony--you can get really close to them on designated paths. On Marta Island, you’ll see a large population of sea lions, as well as cormorants, Antarctic pigeons, and sea elephants. As you travel, you may even be lucky enough to spot a few whales. Bring snacks or a picnic lunch if you wish. Arrange your visit to Solo Expediciones and discover more family-friendly attractions in Punta Arenas using our Punta Arenas trip builder.

  • A day on a cruise ship that was started by a magnificent sunrise over the Bay and curious dolphins. At 40kms to the South we saw whales: a magical show. The glacier is also impressive. Meals, coffees and teas were provided and hearty. Everything was perfectly coordinated in order to spend an unforgettable cruise. Thanks to the whole team!
