Where to stay in Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas boasts a huge selection of hotel options within its bustling sprawl, which range from low-key restored manors and homes to modern lodges and high-rises packed with amenities. You'll find an array of mid-range accommodations in the city's downtown area, within a few blocks of the waterfront and river. This gives you easy access to many of the city's most popular attractions and places to visit. However, Punta Arenas features very few true budget accommodations due to the large tourist industry and huge influx of cruise ship passengers that frequent town.

  • This beautiful shrine was built in 1911 and was completed in 1928. It was commissioned its construction by Monsignor José Fagnano in gratitude to María Auxiliadora by the success obtained in the evangelization of the natives. Its construction was conducted by Father Juan Bernabé. It is considered the most beautiful religious architectural construction in Argentinean and Chilean patagonia, with their lamps, marble and stained glass.
