(3.6/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
See a piece of Chile's history at Parque del Estrecho de Magallanes, built in 1843 after the Republic of Chile took possession of the Magellan Strait and surrounding area. Named after the president at the time, the wooden fort was reconstructed in 1943 and has since opened to the public. Explore the complex, built entirely out of wooden logs, and see the church, jail, post office, a small museum, and old cannons. Standing on top of the small hill, you can enjoy the views of the rocky beach and sea below. • It is very nice and well kept. However, is very expensive for what is, highlighting that the entrance to towers of the paine leaves 6 thousand and with injuv 3mil, instead this park comes out 10! And to foreigners 18! Considering that through it are 3 hours at most.

  • Lots of history here, especially with respect to early European settlers. The restored fort was pretty neat.
  • A large Avenue at the edge of the Strait of great length. Spacious and comfortable for walk it on foot or by bicycle.
