Park of the Strait of Magellan, Punta Arenas
Categories: Nature & Parks
See a piece of Chile's history at Park of the Strait of Magellan, built in 1843 after the Republic of Chile took possession of the Magellan Strait and surrounding area. Named after the president at the time, the wooden fort was reconstructed in 1943 and has since opened to the public. Explore the complex, built entirely out of wooden logs, and see the church, jail, post office, a small museum, and old cannons. Standing on top of the small hill, you can enjoy the views of the rocky beach and sea below. Plan your visit to Park of the Strait of Magellan and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Punta Arenas vacation route planner.

You can access the most important places in auto and small walks (type 200 metres). There is a small museum which is very interesting. If they can, and the time is more or less nice, there is a path between the Park, along a narrow path that goes along the coast. You have to walk and takes between 30 and 45 minutes. You can do without any kind of training. It is very cute. And there are no bugs! At least I saw! I went in October. I Harbor much, and then I mori of heat. If it rains it must be horrible because it is all mud.show original
