See a piece of Chile's history at Park of the Strait of Magellan, built in 1843 after the Republic of Chile took possession of the Magellan Strait and surrounding area. Named after the president at the time, the wooden fort was reconstructed in 1943 and has since opened to the public. Explore the complex, built entirely out of wooden logs, and see the church, jail, post office, a small museum, and old cannons. Standing on top of the small hill, you can enjoy the views of the rocky beach and sea below. • We visited this park and we were surprised by the level of care and the quality of the enclosure at the time workers to attend. At all times you gave directions on how to tour the Park and seen everything in perfect order. Beautiful views of the Strait of Magellan and a great tour of Fort Bulnes, in addition to a beautiful Museum with part of the history of Punta Arenas.

  • You should go. It is a very well maintained park. In December 2015 modernized. They explain you everything there. You can access the most important places in auto and small walks (type 200 metres). There is a small museum which is very interesting. If they can, and the time is more or less nice, there is a path between the Park, along a narrow path that goes along the coast. You have to walk and takes between 30 and 45 minutes. You can do without any kind of training. It is very cute. And there are no bugs! At least I saw! I went in October. I Harbor much, and then I mori of heat. If it rains it must be horrible because it is all mud.
