Park of the Strait of Magellan, Punta Arenas
(3.6/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
See a piece of Chile's history at Park of the Strait of Magellan, built in 1843 after the Republic of Chile took possession of the Magellan Strait and surrounding area. Named after the president at the time, the wooden fort was reconstructed in 1943 and has since opened to the public. Explore the complex, built entirely out of wooden logs, and see the church, jail, post office, a small museum, and old cannons. Standing on top of the small hill, you can enjoy the views of the rocky beach and sea below. Plan your visit to Park of the Strait of Magellan and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Punta Arenas vacation route planner.

  • Beautiful and recently opened its Center for visitors who have a very nice sample and without much technical detail so it is very accepted by children and adolescents. The place has also a cafeteria and a small souvenir shop. From the center you can access a terrace where you can take beautiful photographs. The visit can be continued with Fort bulnes and the coastal viewpoints all of which give a wonderful view we were lucky that there was a beautiful day and spend an entertaining evening at very low cost. Much better than he had before.

  • This place in quite interesting and has past tours that make it more entertaining, a point that makes me lose the qualification is that it has trails that are not properly marked or with reviews by ending is guessing a bit where to go, considering them for me were a must for the photos that can be removed.
