  • A good point to start to learn about the history of Punta Arenas and the region in general. Perhaps missing the story of the history of the native peoples who inhabited the area, many of which were mascarados by the colonists. However, it is a good starting point to go into the knowledge of the city.

Where to stay in Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas boasts a huge selection of hotel options within its bustling sprawl, which range from low-key restored manors and homes to modern lodges and high-rises packed with amenities. You'll find an array of mid-range accommodations in the city's downtown area, within a few blocks of the waterfront and river. This gives you easy access to many of the city's most popular attractions and places to visit. However, Punta Arenas features very few true budget accommodations due to the large tourist industry and huge influx of cruise ship passengers that frequent town.
