Isla Magdalena y Marta, Punta Arenas
(4.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Two islands off the coast of the city, Isla Magdalena y Marta feature prime viewing spots for penguins and sea lions. Several boat tour companies offer different options to visit the islands together, or you can choose to see just one or the other. Alternatively, for a lower price tourists can board the regular ferry for a five-hour round-trip, including one hour on the island. On Magdalena Island, scope out the sight of a large Magellanic penguin colony--you can get really close to them on designated paths. On Marta Island, you’ll see a large population of sea lions, as well as cormorants, Antarctic pigeons, and sea elephants. As you travel, you may even be lucky enough to spot a few whales. Bring snacks or a picnic lunch if you wish. Arrange your visit to Isla Magdalena y Marta and discover more family-friendly attractions in Punta Arenas using our Punta Arenas trip builder.

  • We made the trip with the company Solo Expediton. They took us on time with the hotel about 6:45. The rally drove on very smoothly, where we paid for reserved. We sailed boat speed with kulidziesiecioma people from all over the world. Time we had on the island and then podpłynęliśmy to the next, where we watched the elephant seals. Return to the hotel in the afternoon.

  • Today's journey to the two islands really liked us, because we have seen a wide variety of animals. Dolphins, cormorants and sea lions. And of course very many penguins. The tour is only recommended.
