Club Andino Centro de Ski, Punta Arenas

4.1
#2 of 10 in Outdoors in Punta Arenas
Head to Club Andino Centro de Ski for panoramic views of the city below and also the chance to hit the slopes. This relatively small club operates only one lift, but the view from the top more than makes up for any wait times, as the city and snowcapped mountain vista stretch out before you. Those not up to skiing can take the marked hiking trail that starts from the top and goes all the way down to the bottom, giving everyone a chance to experience the majestic views. Finish with a hearty meal at the restaurant at the base of the slope. Plan to see Club Andino Centro de Ski and other attractions that appeal to you using our Punta Arenas visit planning tool .

  • I recommend to visit this place, unfortunately this year when I went there was very little snow... but the view of the city is very nice, ideal for taking photos

  • When missing the snow or already disappears with the arrival of spring, this mountain becomes an excellent place for the trailrunning. Running along its paths between high forests and skirting the chorrillos of water down its slopes in motivating at the same time as reassuring. In a circuit of eight kilometers moving from forests to typical pampas of patagonia, reaching from the Summit to see the Strait of Magellan, tierra del fuego, the cordillera Darwin, great part of the Brunswick peninsula and even part of the breast Otway. It is simply a spectacular running trail, although short, with two turns achieved a good accumulation of kilometres and is given time to enjoy much better from every corner of the landscape. Highly recommended.

Where to stay in Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas boasts a huge selection of hotel options within its bustling sprawl, which range from low-key restored manors and homes to modern lodges and high-rises packed with amenities. You'll find an array of mid-range accommodations in the city's downtown area, within a few blocks of the waterfront and river. This gives you easy access to many of the city's most popular attractions and places to visit. However, Punta Arenas features very few true budget accommodations due to the large tourist industry and huge influx of cruise ship passengers that frequent town.
