Create an itinerary including Petrohué Waterfalls
Marvel at Petrohué Waterfalls, a long series of waterfalls that cascade down a volcanic rock chute. Backed by the prominent Osorno Volcano, the falls tumble from pool to pool formed by the region's distinctive black basalt formations, beginning in the Petrohue River and ending in Todos los Santos lake. Explore the lushly forested surroundings, fed by the clear waters of the river. You can even try your hand at kayaking or rafting on certain sections of the falls with a guided tour. • Really impressive! Great views of falls/rapids in a beautifully coloured river with forest and volcano backdrop. 3 seperate trails to viewpoints, really good photo access right up close to the water.....  more

  • Very busy when we were there. The temperate forest walks were lovely, much less crowded an definitely worth doing. The falls were amazing, but the walkways were very busy.

  • Nice waterfalls carved into volcanic rocks. The color of the water is beautiful. And the views of the Osorno volcano are spectacular. A must if you are in the area (but do not expect something like Iguazú, though ;)
  • A beautiful, quiet spot. After Iguazu, we wondered how impressive this would be but it is stunning. There is a little cafe and three shprt trails to walk. One of them leads to a little pool which is a great place to have lunch. Easily accessible by public bus from Puerto Varas.
  • Love this place as it is just beautiful. Entrance is 6400 CLP for foreigners, kids up to 11 are free. These days you even find a cafe directly at the falls and free toilets after the ticket booth. Plan to spend an afternoon which will allow enough time to enjoy the falls, have a coffee and walk the short trials. From Puerto Varas take the bus at 3500 CLP per person. Recommended.
  • One of the must see things when un Puerto Varas / Puerto Montt. The entry to foreigners is priced at 6,400 Chilean pesos and at the time of writing this review you can only pay by card. Be aware of the black flying bugs who can make your life pretty difficult if you come during the summer season. Wear white colours if you can as they like to follow thing in black colour. The bus takes you to the entrance for 3,000 Chilean pesos, leaving from Puerto Varas. They go as often as every 30 mins. Recommended!
  • This should be a must item in your life bucket list. If you are a contemplative person, schedule a complete day. I couldn't stop myself in taking pictures of every place and view.
