Parque Philippi, Puerto Varas

3.4
#7 of 7 in Parks in Puerto Varas
Set on a small hill, Parque Philippi features several scenic trails and roads that lead to the top, where panoramic views look out over Puerto Varas and the nearby lake. Hike up the steep trails, observe the different vegetation, and try to spot various species of birds. The small city park stands as a living reminder of the ancient rainforest that covered this area before colonization. Look for a monumental cross that lights up at night, and a zipline that runs through the trees of the park. • This Park every day is more beautiful, you can climb on auot or explore it on foot, along a short trail that takes you to the top. Above you have a panoramic view of the entire city of Puerto Varas and there is a canopy that is run at certain times of the year. Also the cross that night is illuminated with lights and looks from all Purto Varas. It is beautiful, mplantas and trees for those who like Botany and lots of green.

  • It is a nice Park with a vantage point that has a very nice and beautiful view, the road to the top is very easy. It is worth visiting it

  • The Park is an excellent place to visit. You have a track that is not of greater complexity and for this reason is that you can go with children or the elderly. The view to the city of Puerto Varas is simply beautiful. I recommend comfortable shoes and clothes.

  • Beautiful. I didn't want to leave. It was so quiet and peaceful in the morning, and it's not that big. Full of green and with nice views. There's a spot halfway through that has the best view of the lake, but come on, the real landscape is the actual park. I'd go there everyday if I lived nearby.
  • What a short, cool hike
  • Quiet place to stroll. Good views. You can climb by car up to the top, but it can also be walking without difficulty. The cycle tracks are downhill and very frequented by locals. The two stars is less by the amount of trash accumulated in some parts of the road and in some farms.

  • I liked the location, nature and a view well show! I just thought it was an oversight by the Park.

Where to stay in Puerto Varas

To enjoy views of the volcano, stay as close to the edge of Llanquihue Lake as possible. Most higher-end accommodations sit right on the lake's shores, with a range of resorts and boutique hotels offering a touch of luxury. Look a few streets back from the lake for a choice of budget hostels and small guesthouses. Reserve your place in advance to avoid disappointment, regardless of the season.
