Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales, Puerto Varas
(4.8/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
With its virgin lakes, dense forests, lagoons, waterfalls, and towering volcanoes, Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales is a true haven for nature enthusiasts. See how craggy mountains and volcano cones dominate the skyline on all sides of Chile's first national park, established in 1926. Take a map from the visitor's center, pick a route across the river valley, and start exploring the rich wildlife. The park offers many activities, including boat riding, fishing, swimming, skiing, and horseback riding. Climb to one of many observation points and try to spot the places where lava flowed into the river and changed its course. Choose your travel dates carefully, keeping in mind that Puerto Varas has nearly 250 rainy days a year. • We stopped here to see the lovely bright green melt water falls. Saw a beautiful sierra finch. There was a visitor centre and some shops along the way selling various items of clothing made from alpac...  more »
  • The waterfalls are beautiful, the water an amazing blue and sone good walks. The area is surrounded by mountains and lakes. You can take boat trips, well worth doing.
  • Here come from Puerto Varas, to see the Petrohue waterfalls in the Park. The tour is short, you can tour the visits in 15 minutes. I recommend you to walk it all because there are beautiful views. There are ups and downs but everything is very marked is easy to visit the area because they will not be lost. I recommend it, it is nice but not amazing, it is a very pleasant stop.

  • Most beautiful place in the world. I went there for trout fishing and had one of the greatest experiences on my life.
  • Extraordinary. I have walked both walk (trekking) and kayaking on Lake Todos los Santos (crossing Petrohue/Peulla) a couple of times. Captive. Paddle looking Osorno, Puntiagudo and Tronador, between huillines, Martín Pescador... and ancient forests is truly magical. The leap of Petrohué is wonderful. A variety of species of fungi, lichens, amphibians, flora. Side note: striking that within the same unit, there are huge summer houses (mansions in a nutshell) with grass and all sorts of exotic species that have started to invade the area, such as Ivy. Saw, in an of them, a person spraying (with coverall, mask, gloves) the garden of them owners (that van 1 time to the year) in their barges, motorbikes of water... . It is unheard of strange as also the Turistour company that is a kind of mafia. Just is what the Rangers can do against esto. I took all measures to make the expeditions leave no trace and put us many difficulties while the rest almost intervenes significantly both in landscape as affecting the flora and fauna (use of wood) for the chimneys of the houses. Is well surrealistic. I hope that you can better order the thing at the normative level and increase the powers to the Rangers.

  • I'll know this park. Stunning landscape nature in its splendor. The Chilean people captivated me in the previous trip. I come back again on vacation to continue getting to know this wonderful country. November 2015 met the Chilean towers south of the glaciers Painne and fascinating fjords... Am now discovering their culture and geography his people... from the RegionX
