Museo Pablo Fierro, Puerto Varas

4.3
#1 of 13 in Museums in Los Lagos Region
Quirky Museo Pablo Fierro is the brainchild of a local artist, collector,  and local historian who has spend the better part of his life gathering objects from the beginning of the colonial era to the present day. The owner still lives in the building and displays his collection proudly, offering tours of the exhibits and disclosing the history of the area and his own life. • Chile does not have many museums that really attract tourists, but this Museum in particular have a different spirit that would interest young people and adults. It is a place full of elements "junk" that show the history of otherwise. The artist and creator is in place ready to talk and tell about the development of this particular artwork. Worth visiting and squint at the corners of this House.

  • A magical place... done with love. .. We assume without expectations thinking that el.nombre del.museo of gave it someone now deceased and sorpresasaa... the same Pablo Fierro tells you their story and shows the because of his work... A warm place that invites you to dream and relive the past with small souvenirs collection. . A place to return!

  • Pleasant experience, it is best to meet the same Pablo Fierro with its classic apron making repairs or additions to the Museum, who gladly makes Guide. A 7!

  • We discovered it while walking at the Costanera. Its facade gets your attention because of the multiple items it is built. Inside we found a very interesting place to dig into the little pieces of daily history. Pablo, the museum maker, is working always to add new things to the construction. We really loved to have some words from him and to know the meaning is various pieces hanged over there. I really appreciated also read the little cards we the visitors write to him. You can spend hours in there. Really a nice place to nostalgia.
  • What an absolutely fantastic experience. Such an eclectic mix of art and history.
  • Amazing place! There is a lot of items to see and is such a big house!
  • It's a free attraction, which is good. But the quality is low, it has no style and more than a museum it's just someone's untidy basement put on display
  • Such a cute museum! It was full of vintage stuff and art, loved it.

Where to stay in Puerto Varas

To enjoy views of the volcano, stay as close to the edge of Llanquihue Lake as possible. Most higher-end accommodations sit right on the lake's shores, with a range of resorts and boutique hotels offering a touch of luxury. Look a few streets back from the lake for a choice of budget hostels and small guesthouses. Reserve your place in advance to avoid disappointment, regardless of the season.
