Parque Nacional Alerce Andino, Puerto Montt

(4.6/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Hike through South America's equivalent of a California redwoods park at Parque Nacional Alerce Andino. Though it contains many trails, rivers, and waterfalls, the highlight of the park remains the Fitzroya cypress forest, covering approximately 200 sq km (77 sq mi). Explore the many paths leading through the forest, over the rivers, and up the mountains, and admire the views of pristine nature. Keep an eye out for deer and monkey species that call this area their home. Plan your visit to Parque Nacional Alerce Andino and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Puerto Montt itinerary builder.

  • We were two kids with 7 people in the Park of them. The way to the first Lake (lagoon) is very well signposted and also roads are securely fastened. Further away is unfortunately poorly-built 2. Lake but there is work in progress. The staff was very helpful. The rapids and the mammoth tree is incredibly beautiful.

  • Excellent place for an intense walk that is worth the penalty, get clothes and footwear appropriate, e go early to take advantage of the fresh of the day. There are several walks that last from one hour up to 5 hours, units you know! the cost is approximately 4000 pesos chilenos per person. There are two starting points (where are the Rangers): the first will arrive well (paved road) but the second the passable but gravel (care in some curves but good).
