Parque Nacional Alerce Andino, Puerto Montt

(4.6/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Hike through South America's equivalent of a California redwoods park at Parque Nacional Alerce Andino. Though it contains many trails, rivers, and waterfalls, the highlight of the park remains the Fitzroya cypress forest, covering approximately 200 sq km (77 sq mi). Explore the many paths leading through the forest, over the rivers, and up the mountains, and admire the views of pristine nature. Keep an eye out for deer and monkey species that call this area their home. Plan your visit to Parque Nacional Alerce Andino and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Puerto Montt itinerary builder.

  • We leave from puerto Varas to see the Park, pass through Puerto Montt and then grabbed the road leading to the Park, a dirt road of about 7 km, were in a car under, so the way we became complicated... many loose stones and the auto played everywhere... almost stayed in a puddle, but hey... After a while laargo arrived! We take the path up to the ancient larch, sale $4000 per adult. Takes approximately 1.5 hours go, since you're stopping to take pictures and look all the way, it is easy to take, you have to go with clothes Dresser and shoes to power is a little muddy. Before arriving at the larch you found with chaica jumps, a beautiful waterfall. It is advisable to have a nice time with nature.

  • You arrive early so that you always take everything, you can go with children, only the final part is more demanding, so most of the trail is suitable for all physical conditions.
