  • In this era of thaws, it is important to know that the physicist to make effort is important. The rise shows a drop of almost 1800metros thing to do in three hours with use of an ice axe/crampons if you need. In summer the trail seems to be more comfortable or also in winter with hard ice and crampons as we commented, but now this time gave steps that hundian in the ice half a meter each leg and not must be menosvalorar the effort to make. It should not rely on this company that with encouragement to sell you the guided tour they explain that it is an excursion to any "clerk" as literally told us. And Yes subiamos but slow for that were two guides, if instead of take 5 hours there was no problem in 7 supposedly. Because it was not so. We left 8 people and from the beginning divided into two groups. One of three people and the other group with five people we were ascending at a rate more slow. The Guide from the initial moment saw that we were the last group and in the first intermission left us already clear that not llegariamos to the top, that no us sintieramos mischief to cancel the rise (it was not nullified the return of the almost €100 we pay so we discourage) an basically). Travel was based on a few words of discouragement and there was no option for a promotion but paused since according to commenting only we could climb up to a particular time and if we had not risen to the top also we had that flip to go all together on the bus. My group a girl turned around at the first time and it was waiting for hours in the van. The other we were convinced that slowly llegariamos and continue. We encouraged people who passed near us commenting on which we had already spent more than half but our guide insisted that not conseguiriamos the rise and finally decided to give us the tour. And we were not the only ones. There were many complete groups we saw to do the same. I had mainly grateful information more realistic and less based on interests economic, as well as an explanation of the stages of the ascent to go marking goals (the explanation was based on how to use a tool and that 13 h we were) (where were we had to get off). The descent was hard, hundiendonos continuously and partly heading down a few slides of ice where occasionally is lost control, which meant an anxious crisis to a friend. As experience of mountain externalities which of course no one can make responsible, as well as the physics of each participant, but if a real information can be of as this route before sell the tour and give a good na explanation of as it will make the rise and that parties require more effort. If an experienced guide considers that a person must keep perfect to coordinate it so that person cancel rise, what is striking is that at any time we feel lively but quite the opposite and that of eight o'clock we started the ascent in our group only three arrived. They told us that that was normal every day and we saw complete groups which also nullified the rise therefore do not intend to discourage but if reporting is not a simple excursion to any person of a foot and you have to think about it.

Where to stay in Pucon

As a world-renowned haven for outdoor adventurers, Pucon features a wide range of options when it comes to places to stay, though the bottom line for even budget prices is significantly higher than elsewhere in Chile. Many of the most affordable establishments are the hostels clustered in the city center, which often feature communal areas popular with the backpacker crowd. On the other end of the spectrum, you can opt for upscale lodges with their own pools, restaurants, and Wi-Fi capabilities, also within walking distance of just about any place in town. Pucon teems with adventure travelers in January and February, when prices go up and availability plummets. Make reservations ahead to avoid disappointment, or opt to go outside the height of tourist season.
