Ojos del Caburga, Pucon

4.1
Witness the graceful flow of water at Ojos del Caburga, a triple waterfall not far from the Chilean town of Pucon. Enveloped by lush vegetation, the falls take their name from the overhead perspective, from which they resemble a pair of blue and green eyes. Walk the short trail from the dirt road until you arrive at the falls, which tumble into a gorgeous turquoise pool. Look out over the scene from a variety of viewpoints, and try to capture the perfect picture of the moment. Put Ojos del Caburga into our Pucon road trip website and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Beautiful site, go here after a visit to Huerquehue or Carburga. Entrance 1.000. Not spectacular or something to go for specially  more »
  • Not be if it is there so many beautiful panoramas around (waterfalls, lakes, etc) which makes the journey through the eyes of caburga not anything otherworldly. If you time it cannot be, if not, you can do without.

  • Easy by car or campervan (like us) to drive from pucon. Will be about 20 to 30 minutes drive. Head towards the more and then stand the caburgua waterfalls at one point very clearly signposted. Very fine to it, though gravel road. You paid 1000 pesos per person entrance and can then Park your car. Then you walk to the falls and laguna azul. There are several vantage points, one more beautiful than the other. It's not much or walk far, but plenty of steps and sometimes steep.

  • 1000 pesos entrance. Boring 15 minute walk. Mediocre waterfall, overrated spot. Avoid at all cost. Try trails around the Villarica Volvano instead, or El claro waterfall.
  • 30 to 45 min only are needed to visit this place which is very cute and beautiful and blue ! Easy hike.
  • Beautiful place but probably overrated. Nice walk.
  • Worth a visit if you're in the area
  • Nice view of the clear, blue waters. Works on a pay - take your photo - leave system which makes this activity really 'touristy', lots of tourist buses etc.. You need to take a second road on the other side of the river and pay a co competitor to get a closer access to the waterfalls and a different view.

Where to stay in Pucon

As a world-renowned haven for outdoor adventurers, Pucon features a wide range of options when it comes to places to stay, though the bottom line for even budget prices is significantly higher than elsewhere in Chile. Many of the most affordable establishments are the hostels clustered in the city center, which often feature communal areas popular with the backpacker crowd. On the other end of the spectrum, you can opt for upscale lodges with their own pools, restaurants, and Wi-Fi capabilities, also within walking distance of just about any place in town. Pucon teems with adventure travelers in January and February, when prices go up and availability plummets. Make reservations ahead to avoid disappointment, or opt to go outside the height of tourist season.
