Concha y Toro, Pirque

#1 of 51 in Wineries in Chile
Sample some of Chile's best-known wines at Concha y Toro. Operating since 1883, the winery has grown into one of Chile's biggest wine producers and exporters, with historical connections to Chilean nobility. Take a tour of the winery to see the beautiful grounds, have a look at the vineyards, learn a bit about the winemaking process, and, most importantly, taste some samples. It's best to come in with realistic expectations--the tour can feel quite commercial and lacks the personal touch of smaller wineries in the area. • Concha y Toro is an industry and takes it to the letter. You're just a number ($ $) for them. The visitation is poor, just the basics. Don't be fooled by the "toast", they give you a glass, which you will use to do the 3 tastings, this gift is to make it easy for them since you won't need to remove-do-reset the glasses used. The place is beautiful, could be better tapped. Did the tasting Tour Marques, sat the table, we take 4 wines and cheeses, the time is counted and how it ended, I started to collect everything. I think it didn't cost anything to leave us there for 5 minutes to finish eating the cheese with calm. As I said, time is money for the Concha y Toro. There are very, very best wineries. Examples: hills, Lapostolle, Saw Manent, Aquitaine ... etc ...

  • Did the traditional Basin Winery Tour Y Toro, but, as he had done in another Winery before, CyT was "wishing". I believe that if you are a winery for the first time, and not knowing anything about wine (like me!), be a good tour, especially since there are few wineries that have a tour with a guide who speaks Portuguese. I thought it was very commercial, half gone ... you missed a bit of time to taste the wines and the scenery with ease, without having to "go to next point soon because of the Group's coming" ...

  • My husband and I visited today the winery, chose the traditional tour with the Portuguese language. I think the big difference was in the beauty of wine country, the more we realize just more of the same, the Guide appeared tired and always repeated that was your last tour after 3 working days and that the next day would rest (us as tourists we expect more than a guide tired and impatient), during the tasting was not offered water or bucket to deposit the wine that was not to the liking of the tourist, much less some cookies that are critical between a wine and another (but of course this is a matter of the House , and in the case doesn't seem to be a priority for them). Anyway, thanks for saying that we visited, but it's not nice to put high expectations.

  • Gorgeous property, friendly staff, and excellent food and wine. Was looking forward to coming here since booking my trip to Santiago and was not disappointed. Spent a few hours here and the highlight is the restaurant. The food is incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Enjoyed a cheese plate, empanadas, and seafood platter which included ceviche, octopus, salmon, shrimp skewers, and scallops. Also had a white wine tasting and glass, of course. The server explained each wine (in English) in great detail, which definitely enhances the experience. Definitely a must when in Santiago!
  • One of the longer and more elaborate wine tours, perfect for tourists, less information about the winemaking process but more storytelling and exploring the winery by foot. My favorite part was the varietal garden. Our guide spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable.
  • Wine tourism on its most "industrial way". Dont expect anything in particular Restaurant is great and food felt "homemade" even if its run by Sodexo. I went here by metro+Uber.
  • Me and my friends went to do the tour and the wine tasting. The tour was fun. Our guide was nice. The tasting was absolutely amazing! Totally worth it! The tasting is paired with cheese, what makes it even better. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and patient to answer all our questions. Overall it was a great experience. We learned a lot about wine that day.
  • Years back, I hit this place upon a bicycle tour. I wish to be a wine taster. We have been done this a lot. Moreover I learned a lot... Whenever I find their famous Merlot, I gonna buy it. They made me addicted... Nice and safe place. Friendly and helpful staff. See pictures. Worth to go!
