  • Was a great discovery! From Temuco airport, we rent a 4 x 4 Montero and started at the Villarrica National Park taking the road from Pucón in direction to Coñaripe, our final destination was Huilo Huilo and wanted to move to the geometric baths before. Had snowy makes few days, by what we were finding with areas snowy, forests native, bridges, beautiful landscapes in general. Despite being a beautiful National Park, I should indicate that it has good signage and nowhere it was indicated that the road, above, was cut due to a large amount of snow on the roads, making it very dangerous to move forward... we had to return and arrive to Huilo Huilo on the other hand. Recommendation: If you go in winter, should inquire about the State of the roads before boarding.

  • We got with the family towards the foot of the Villarrica volcano, passing through the Villarrica National Park, the road is good until at least where this access to volcanic caves, which we entered no since income seemed quite expensive at these $18000 per person, the place is a native to the area and view nature from the top really impressive

  • The traverse Villarica is done in 4 or 5 days (3 or 4 nights), if you opt for the short version, be aware that you will have to travel no less than 2 times 30 kilometres (approximately) on the first two days. If you make this trek back season (we were there in March) you walk virtually alone, around Villarica, Quetrupillán, volcanoes with backdrop of the huge volcano Lanín. The altitude is not excessive but still expect a few good climbers. Perform the trek in 5 or 6 days may be a good solution for taking the time to explore a little more this beautiful nature. It is easier to do at the start of Pucón (take a taxi to arrive at the foot of the volcano). Attention the nights can be very cold, plan a good sleeping bag. A magnificent experience that does not require any special adaptation (the altitude is not a problem here).
