Parque Nacional La Campana, Olmue

(4.6/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
Travel through nature's beauty on a hike through Parque Nacional La Campana, home to one of the last remaining wine palm forests. Seek adventure on one of several trails, or head to the base of Bell Mountain, where a relatively easy trek offers plenty of exercise to families with young kids. Make sure to take hiking boots and a camera for some photos of the mountainous landscape. The last leg of the hike becomes a bit more difficult, but it leads to an old Russian observatory, making it worth the trouble. • I read previous reviews and I think that I will bring with a description of the path already values, locomotion, and all the others already this said. The first recommendation is to arrive very early, hopefully before the 9 to start the walk. Along the way there are some places to take spring water and rest a little, if you have luck you can see some foxes in the place (especially one approaching this domesticated almost as ordering food). The first section to the mine sector is quite relajdo and very nice, from the mine to the Darwin plate begins the difficulty as rocks appear and the road is a little steep. Here, all right, the good start after road to the top, be careful because there is a sector of boulders, stones are loose and are smooth and wet stones ideal for slide, especially if it has fallen a little snow. Eye with the route in this place, at times lost the Red irons. The top is close, that a little difficult is to climb and once you get everything there will be valid only worthwhile. Is by this that I recommend use footwear suitable and not those slippers of sole smooth, the clothing also is important, it more comfortable possible and also your backpack with water and something to eat (a time saw to a young loading a guitar). The descent is more important, because in that sector of the rolling stones is very easy sliding. Once arriving at the area of the mine, everything will be more fun. There are bathrooms, showers and areas of camping. My dream is to be able to connect with the Hill the oak that is to the front by means of a serdero. For those who like trekking is a totally recommended.

  • I went for the first time and is a great experience, to see the nature a huge spider webs, birds, trees of different types. Is nature Chilean that must take advantage and take care. We arrived as 08:00 app entry cost US $2,300- and arrived at a place called the mine like 11:30 app. Hence you must keep going until 14:00 app and climb (literally) to reach the Summit. There are others who take less, but went to became normal. Multiply it by two. Go with shoe comfortable, firm and enjoy the road.

  • Starting off just before 9am, the park ranger gave us a little map, pointed out where we can refill our water bottles and when we should turn back. The hike to the top of Serra La Campana is 14km, the...  more »
