Saltos del Huilo-Huilo, Neltume
(4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Take a short trek through lush Valdivian forest to reach Saltos del Huilo-Huilo. Situated in a biological reserve, the waterfall is surrounded by rich wildlife and abundant vegetation. As you hike along the well-maintained trail, try to spot some native species along the way, such as the pudu, the world's smallest deer. Descend a small staircase and admire the turquoise waters seemingly emerging from the stones. If you feel up to it, bring some swimwear and take a dip in the chilly, clear pool below. • It is a place full of nature and good people, great, we stayed at a cabin in Choshuenco where we take a bus to go to the reservation, are about 15 to 20 min approx and comes as 800 pesos per person to the southern entrance, that if there is to be careful with the schedules going not followed. Something that we didn't know and learned on this trip is that they are two inputs, the entrance NORTH where you can find some wonderful hotels, as magic mountain and different jumps, and at the SOUTHERN entrance where you will find the jump the lioness and the jump of the Huilo Huilo, everything deserves to be visited

  • The jump is very impressive and the best thing is that you get to the after a very short walk through the forest to see it from the top. Then a few steep wood stairs, in very good condition, can be downloaded to get to the bottom of the cliff and watch the jump from there, that is also beautiful. It is a very nice ride for families and couples, and there is a second trail 1 km approximately by the middle of the forest and which allows to reach the jump of the puma, highly recommended also.

  • Wonderful place, the trail is very nice, has a special charm if it's raining, try to bring good shoes and clothes in general to be more consistent with the place and hope that people who go to the site follow not polluting it with their trash, cigars, papers, plastics Etc! The reserve is very well looked after by his administration but cannot get people with little education!
