Reserva Nacional Malalcahuello, Malalcahuello

Categories: Wildlife Areas, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web
Survey the volcanic charcoal landscapes of Reserva Nacional Malalcahuello, a desert panorama reminiscent of the Sahara but with more of an ash like, dark appearance stretching for 303 sq km (116 sq mi). The two hour trek shows the best facets of the national park, though longer trails are available. Take plenty of water along as the desert like conditions here make it very hot. 4X4s can be rented for those who would prefer not to traverse the uphill volcano ascent by foot. • In winter or summer totally recommended. A beautiful place surrounded by araucarias and at the foot of the volcano

  • It is a lovely, quiet place where you can connect with nature deeply. We wanted to get to laguna blanca but time could not at least two days of hiking... a place with tender grass has excellent camping and water available which in summer is hard to find.
