  • Little place with little information of what one is seeing. Almost all the things of the Cousiño family are generally in the Palace located in the city of Santiago

  • I loved it. Rooms quite well preserved, the same items on display. Interesting to expand knowledge about the Doña Isidora Goyenechea. Visionary women. Shown in this museum also last of Lota, bonanza and progress enjoyed. Not to be missed.

  • I've only gone once, did not want to repeat myself dish... I prefer to go to the Park immediately, it is not very educational and does not have much information about what is exposed

  • Interesting history of Chilean coal mining during the industrial revolution of the 19th and 20th centuries and the wealth of Cousiño family in the XIX century
  • Cute place, they deliver a lot of information and very well organized, visit the back where are the toilets is very nice and few see it. The girls of the entry (when you pay) are friendly and very indifferent with the client. Otherwise all good. You can't use flash cameras inside

  • Very good place to learn the mining history of Lota and Coronel. The Museum is well kept and are to worked hard to preserve the style of the time, especially by the costumes of the rapporteurs. Colonel should do the same to Lota with its historic heritage "take care of it and keep it".

  • A house in family of Cousiño family physicians. With a unique history of the development of the extraction of coal and technology brought to Chile by the end of the 19th century, history closely related to the war of the Pacific, a museum with history and unique experiences in the sector, which is highly recommended.

Where to stay in Lota

As the town attempts to transition its economy from mining to tourism, accommodations in Lota remain scarce. You won't find much more than a couple of rental apartments. Consider staying in Concepcion, just 39 km (24 mi) to the north, and a regional hub of transport, commerce, and tourism. From there, you can easily reach Lota by taking the short, scenic drive along the coast.
