  • The Sendero los Alerces is very beautiful and interesting. It allows, in turn, know an exemplary imposing of three meters in diameter and nearly 50 high. It is well, now up to make clarifications. First of all, to reach Chaihuín from Valdivia - in auto - should go to fog (20 min) and there take a barge to Corral. This part every two hours. It costs $4500 per car (fee which includes passengers). This trip takes another 20 minutes, but it is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes early to address. Once in poultry, should take a route of some 20 km to Chaihuín. This route is 90% paved road and offers beautiful views. Arriving in Chaihuín, a poster - is seen before crossing the bridge-the National Park. This park offers this entry just a few trails and very brief. Crossing the bridge hand left it is the coastal reserve. To be a conservation reserve, does not offer many hiking trails. Among them is the los Alerces. For this, it is obligatory to hire a local guide that charges $20,000 for group up to 6 persons. However, it is necessary to clarify: the trail starts at a place which can be reached after more than 20 minutes of gravel road, which, in my opinion, is not suitable for common cars. I strongly recommend going in van. The trail takes about three hours (almost five, iday turned the administration of the reserve). The Guide - Jose - friendly, knows a lot and very well informed about local flora and fauna. Actually we highly recommend this tour!
