Walk across the bridge for views from above Saltos del Laja, where a set of four horseshoe-shaped waterfalls sit side by side along a total width of 455 m (1,492 ft). The easternmost fall is the tallest cascade here, plunging from a total height of 35 m (114 ft). Siempre que visito un lugar me gusta saber su historia, entonces descubrí donde nace este lugar turístico y parada obligatoria para todos aquellos que se dirigen hacia el sur. El río Laja aguas arriba... more »Whenever I visit a place I like to know its history, then I discovered where born this tourist place and compulsory stop for those heading to the South. The Laja river upstream is born from the Lake of the same name and begins its descent considering how tributary rivers: El Toro, Polcura, Trubunleo and Rucúe. And it runs over 148 km until you reach the waterfall. Thousands of years ago the lagoon was twice what it is now, this generated a break of a great mass of waters volcanic thus current alluvial cone of the Laja river. Saltos del Laja is composed by four spectacular waterfalls, ranging from 20 to 35 m in height. These were formed by the erosion produced by the circular movement of water, thereby sculpting the rock and giving form to what we today know as Saltos del Laja retroactive. If they have the opportunity and have more time you can also see the waterfalls from above, then you will see that on the falls River runs calmly and with little depth. From there up you can see the strength in how falls about 20 to 35 meters below water. Most think that it is only a waterfall but they are very wrong, in total there are 4. The main waterfall, which is where you will appreciate from the road bridge, is the highest and it appears in almost all the postcards and photographs of the place. It is 35 meters high and has a unique panoramic view, which offers an almost total view of the jump. The second fall, which is located next to the main one, has a height of 25 m, the third jump is located at 1 Km of the road to Paraguay and measures about 25 m and is known as "Salto Chico". Finally the fourth waterfall is back of the latter and some 20 meters of height. In the summer season quite low water flow and I was able to see the wall of the jump mostly, and also the stones were carved (I don't know if that's allowed) but ruin the true essence of the landscape. We always are the ones who we ruin the beautiful and natural things. Sad!

It also has a place where they sell many crafts at a very affordable price and many places to eat.
Easily accessible from the road. Definitely worth stopping for but be sure to wear your rain jacket if you plan on getting close up to the falls...
The council run camping site is adequate and there are small convenience kiosks within the grounds which offer basic food and drink items. The bathroom facilities could use some more hygiene and maintenance attention, but other than that it's a nice and economic place to camp.
Nice place to visit
Old school, but very nice.
Great waterfall. Easy access.
