Roam the stalls of La Recova Municipal Market, a market and artisanal fair that dates back to the 17th century as a merchant center. The building was destroyed several times, first by a fire in 1965 and then an earthquake in the 1970s. In 1981, the present market was inaugurated by Augusto Pinochet and was, at the time, the first building with an escalator in the city. Browse the numerous stalls that line the first floor, which sell local delicacies, arts, crafts, souvenirs, and vibrant handmade jewelry. Visit the second floor for a meal at one of the restaurants, which serve traditional local dishes and fresh seafood. • We went with expectation for comments here, but in the end it was one market where up there are restaurants that you pray to go to lunch and down some crafts (50% Chinese) and regional sweets like chocolate jams things with papaya etc. Very similar to other fairs as in Viña del mar or Valparaíso. Go if you want to take some souvenir of the serena and if they walk out there then I saw another similar along the coast and think more complete.

  • In the 2nd floor has restaurants, the most similar in quality and prices, it only bad is that seek their customers to all costa and you "beset" as going walking, which is quite annoying. On the first floor several local handicrafts, some with local products and other Chinese products. They include some who have had enough variety of papayas, delicacies and sweets, which are of good quality and good price. It is a lovely walk, worth knowing it.
