"a sea outlet threatened to destroy the city, as the waves came to lick the Barranca that today bears the name of this temple. The scared people brought in procession to the virgen del Rosario, and the sea, which had advanced a mile extension, covering with water las vegas retirement to his presence. By this circumstance is says that the Church occupies its site current.
