  • Take the visit with my family it is much better when I went the last time (2014), there are more tables for camping, remodeled baths, the trails are now wood handrails, which makes it more inclusive and safer in case if you go with small children. According to the guardian Park, carried out these improvements in January this year. Very nice visit and in the camping area there is a teaching for the children, it is not very big but entertains small awhile. If you go in summer season, must wait 1 hour or more to enter the Park, the Park has a maximum capacity of 60 people and can not have much vehicle inside, therefore make you wait at the entrance of the Park until you get off people's Park, I recommend you go early to avoid that and they should be your trash removed from the Park. During the tour there are guides that help you explain regard to species that are found in this park. It is not allowed to bring pets. The route of the trail is approximately 1 hour.

  • While the Park is beautiful, the possible visit area is a path that does not last more than 40 minutes and a picnic area, in a dry area and not much more. The trip to get is long 1.5 h approx. dirt road, often in poor condition. The viewpoint is beautiful, but can't be long.

  • One of the most extraordinary places in Chile and in the world. In the middle of a desertic climate area this park has a tropical atmosphere with most incredible fauna and flora. It is well maintained. Routes are clear and easy to follow and a lot of effort has been put to make it self explanatory with small signs everywhere. Worth spending the whole day.
  • Currently closed for restoration until December 2017.
  • Microclimate eco tourism. They close earlier than you'd expect, 5:30 I think. Nice picnic areas. Hot in summer. Go in spring to see the flowers
  • great views, takes longer to get there than to do the hike.
  • I saw the wildlife and it made me think of Chili which made me think of chili

Where to stay in La Serena

La Serena provides a varied selection of sleeping options, with the area between the main bus station and the town center featuring at least one hostel on every street. Despite this abundance of lodgings, many hotels book up fast at the height of the tourist season (summer: January-February), and some refuse visitors on single-night stays. If you're looking for the ultimate in space and comfort, consider renting a furnished apartment on the coastline.
