Church Tourist Spot
At Church of Rapa Nui, witness how Easter Island's Rapa Nui culture has melded with the traditions of the Catholic Church to create a distinctive place of worship. Every Sunday, the intimate church fills to the brim with locals and visitors for a two-hour service, in which markers of the local culture include songs in Rapa Nui and Tahitian languages. Visit the church at other times to take photos of the ornate interior, which features wood carvings of important Catholic figures created in Rapa Nui style. • The only church in the center of the town. You will pass by it. You could peek in but it's closed. Reasonable size to accommodate the population of the locals.  more »
