Ahu Vinapu, Easter Island
Categories: Ruins, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
A remarkable example of primitive stonemasonry, Ahu Vinapu holds the remains of five moai in Rapa Nui National Park, a World Heritage Site. The ahu (stone platforms) stand as some of the largest in the park and consist of huge slabs of basalt rock. When you go, look for the towering, deteriorated red-stone monolithic column, which resembles a female moai. Besides these ruins, the area is largely un-excavated and un-restored. Take care when exploring, as some stone statues only just peek out of the ground. It is believed, according to one theory, that Polynesians were to Peru and from there the construction. The construction is clearly antisismica but Rapa Nui is not zone seismic.show original

Is where no tourists, many cattle ranches, such as the Inca stone is worth a look is. Claiming the territory, unlike other areas cattle because not many people will be on the other side, but a girdle look here please I will be heading. I think because of the stone on the East side at invisible work backlight. It is a place so beautifully seen on the sun rising from the sea.show original
We decided to walk here which is quite a mission. I'd recommend you go by car but get a 4x4 as there is not much of a road leading up to this place. The weather has taken its toll on these constructions, its still impressive though.
Really cool big stone wall construction. It reminded me of the stone walls around Cusco, Peru. It makes me wonder how this kind of knowledge was passed around in the ancient word.
