Inspirock Rating:
4.1/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web
Humble in appearance, Nuestra Senora de los Dolores Church is a relic of the late 19th century and an inscribed member of the World Heritage List. In 1849 this Catholic church was built to replace a Jesuit missionary that formerly occupied the site. It's constructed of alerce, cypress, and coigue wood on both the exterior and interior. Nine arches support a deep portico and single tower on the facade, and stone colonnades continue on the inside. Of note is the multi-colored depiction of Christ crucified, hinged at the underarms. • This church is magnificent, as each of the churches of Chiloe, I've known; you have to explore it and learn its history.

  • Linda Church from 1858, World Heritage site, located in the square of Dalcahue. It has a high tower and a portal of 9 arches. I think that it is one of the largest in Chiloé.

  • We went to mass. Wonderful community and spectacular Church Chiloe-style. Wood, like everything on the island, with a local restoration that left her very picturesque. It's big, but not the most beautiful in the area.
