Architectural Building
Humble in appearance, Nuestra Senora de los Dolores Church is a relic of the late 19th century and an inscribed member of the World Heritage List. In 1849 this Catholic church was built to replace a Jesuit missionary that formerly occupied the site. It's constructed of alerce, cypress, and coigue wood on both the exterior and interior. Nine arches support a deep portico and single tower on the facade, and stone colonnades continue on the inside. Of note is the multi-colored depiction of Christ crucified, hinged at the underarms.
