Nuestra Senora de los Dolores Church, Dalcahue

(4/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Humble in appearance, Nuestra Senora de los Dolores Church is a relic of the late 19th century and an inscribed member of the World Heritage List. In 1849 this Catholic church was built to replace a Jesuit missionary that formerly occupied the site. It's constructed of alerce, cypress, and coigue wood on both the exterior and interior. Nine arches support a deep portico and single tower on the facade, and stone colonnades continue on the inside. Of note is the multi-colored depiction of Christ crucified, hinged at the underarms. • Following the architecture of the churches in the area, well-preserved and very striking. It is not a must, but if you go out there it's good to take the time to watch it a couple of seconds

  • Another must-see of the circuit of churches, but this restored from 2015 therefore has a luminosity that is rarely seen in this type of construction. Beautiful, simple and illuminated. Not need to be Catholic to enjoy it to concho by your contribution cultural and architectural
