  • I am sorry to see how true chilote craftsmanship have gone missing. At the fair of Dalcahue you hard to find truly original things. It should take it and go with the keen eye to find true craftsmen.

  • During the week I spent in Chiloé only visited 2 craft fairs: Castro and Dalcahue. All others were CLOSED. De Castro saw to Bolivian handicrafts (and some Chinese things)... However in the Dalcahue is all all 100% handicraft chilota (in fact mentioned on a poster on the roof). We buy almost everything from Don Juan, a very nice chilote, which has its place next to his wife. It was sold to the residents who were not going to work, and not make problems. Accepts redcompra (other places also). You can find from magnets to $500 pesos to woven rugs of all colors, approx. 30-50 thousand pesos. Beautiful! The only downside is that many jobs were closed, maybe in season low is not open.

  • Good walk in a beautiful place. Very cute crafts area. The prices are the same all over the island, but the quality is better. Go and do not regret it.
