Totoralillo, Coquimbo

(3.9/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Unwind on a 2 km (1.2 mi) stretch of coastline at Totoralillo, a sandy beach offering a wealth of attractions. This small peninsula is divided in two by a row of rocks and a few businesses set in suitably rustic huts. Either side of the divide, the sand is golden and the water blue. You can try your hand at many different water sports here, with rental shacks in the central divide. Search the rockier areas for marine life, with crabs, shells, and starfish all to be found in the rock pools. For Totoralillo and beyond, use our Coquimbo itinerary planner to get the most from your Coquimbo vacation.

  • Very nice beach about 30 km from la serena. There is a bar. The sea is with waves you can get, the clearer water than in other beaches of Chile. If a weekend week they can charge you with parking

  • My visit was in January 2016, so my opinion counts for that date. I was in the tano Tiki with private beach hotel, which was to enter from the highway through Totoralillo beach. Some years ago I used to come by the day to this beach when I was in la Serena, why, the last time we encourage us to stay in the Tano Tiki, unique beach hotel. The place has paid parking, there are some sites type picás where sold local dishes such as shrimp cheese pies. The hotel also has a restaurant that was closed during our stay. While the beach is very good, the sea of a calypso which seems to the Caribbean, is replete with overflow of compatriots in popular class during the summer. It is not a beach for people seeking quiet unless you want to experience a folk and soak up the Chilean human warmth, if he is lucky to emerge unscathed from the beach. Despite this comment you would like to go to this beach humorous, I would go in a big group, to dig in and defend at least one square meter of personal space that you walked on the towel, they shoot you sand or the "galla" screaming scribbles at the least provocation. Do not answer by what can be found swimming or digging to make a sand Castle, bones of chicken is the most venial which can be buried. Rather it here pays more rent a little cabin of the private tano Tiki Beach and observe all that spectacle from afar.

  • A nice place for families, and for who wants to bathe is also a very good choice, since it has a beach with small waves and another with a beach type lagoon, where children can enter without fear of the waves. And how it can be better? It should not be allowed to eat on the beach, pine at least the types of food they sell there.
