Cruz Del Tercer Milenio, Coquimbo
(3.9/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
Admire the artistry of Cruz Del Tercer Milenio, a striking structure that remains one of the tallest landmarks in all of South America. Built by the Catholic Church between 1999 and 2001, the 93 m (305 ft) tall cross was designed to mark the start of the new millennium, an important date in the Christian faith. The cross juts out impressively from a triangular prism base that disappears into the rocky hill beneath it. The three-tiered base includes a museum detailing the creation of the monument, a level dedicated to prayer, and a viewing platform. Before you head to Coquimbo, plan trip itinerary details with our user-friendly Coquimbo tourist route planner, to make sure you see all that Coquimbo has to offer, including Cruz Del Tercer Milenio.

  • Cute family that any person who visits the serena strolls or coquimbo should do, you can see a great view of the city and the sea

  • If you're for Coquimbo no doubt it is a place that you should go for the spectacular view that has. We arrived on a bus from La Serena, like a rise of some Hill of Valpo. We went through the market and up view to the port... already have above you have to pay two luquitas and you can enter, the entry price is for two trips in the elevator and entrance to the Museum which is a Hall at the end of the Church. The view is beautiful (from that nothing to say) and Museum and Church also, what I didn't like was the attention of Lady ask me the entrance ticket very aggressively and that everything was very dirty, understandably the shit out of pigeon on the outside, but not inside (lifts, in the gazebo where they were the Cardinals was also dirty). For such an investment (as it have in the Museum) should have more care with the theme of the cleaning.

  • The cross of the third millennium is a tourist attraction that must travel if or, if you're going for the first time to la serena, then it becomes part of the landscape but it is wonderful

  • Beautiful architecture and beautiful landscape but I didn't like that the have so many valuables when they could finish off and improve the city and instead put objects in the area.

  • It is definitely a place to visit if you're in the fourth region. There is a wonderful view of the Bay and you'll see in addition, Coquimbo and la Serena from the height.
