Cruz Del Tercer Milenio, Coquimbo

(3.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Admire the artistry of Cruz Del Tercer Milenio, a striking structure that remains one of the tallest landmarks in all of South America. Built by the Catholic Church between 1999 and 2001, the 93 m (305 ft) tall cross was designed to mark the start of the new millennium, an important date in the Christian faith. The cross juts out impressively from a triangular prism base that disappears into the rocky hill beneath it. The three-tiered base includes a museum detailing the creation of the monument, a level dedicated to prayer, and a viewing platform. • A good overview for family, a spectacular view, you would put a little attention to the operation of the lifts

  • It is a sacred place both business and at the same time of gathering for those who wish to pray, pray and talk with God.

  • Tourist attraction in the city of coquimbo, recommended absolutely. Maybe in my case is interesting from the point of view of architectural rather than religious. It has a chapel and Hall of artifacts belonging to different popes, among them are the garments of Juan Pablo II when it came to Chile. The second level poses a square of the encounter and the last level (lift) leads to the arms of the cross where you can see a full view of Coquimbo and La Serena
