Playa la virgen, Caldera

(260+ reviews on the web)
Beach
Stranded on the coast in the middle of desert dunes and hills, Playa la virgen attracts visitors with its white sand and calm turquoise waters. A bit remote and difficult to access, this pristine beach focuses on ecotourism. Pick a place on a wooden sun lounger under a straw umbrella, or bring your own beach equipment. If you wish to stay overnight, rent one of the wooden cabins in the surrounding hills overlooking the beach. Amenities include public restrooms, a spacious parking lot, and a restaurant. Bring cash and prepare to spend a day without mobile phone service. See Playa la virgen and all Caldera has to offer by arranging your trip with our Caldera vacation route planner.

  • Back of the Virgin Beach, I am too disappointed cabins, as price does not quite correspond to the quality of its facilities. 1.-no one gave us the cabin, they only told us where we should go. 2.-we come to claim for the toilet and practically they told us this is what there, broom that had was almost useless, there was a trapero and the floor was with much sand in corner bathroom shelves and terraza.tambien was dirty with soil attached by many sides. Terrace chairs were plastic chairs coke and not directory as in the photo you sent us the photos. The bathroom had a simple sink and not a vanity as in the picture you sent us. The bathroom was full of sand and with a filthy towel flat. The shower was broken, without some ceramic dishwasher dripped is integer, wetting the tank trash and furniture. The oven was disgusting and fat. The broken dining room seat... this last was the first thing that we inform the Manager and told us that would be a teacher to fix it, which never occurred. All the broken lamps. The full stained and dirty ceiling everywhere. The refrigerator dirty and rusty, wet all the vegetables with the accumulation of water in the crisper. A window that opened one for not having a second latch, risking our belongings on a daily basis. Drum outside waste was turned and no one came to remove it or to clean, we had to do it ourselves. Nor is it informed us before booking or pay that we would not count with electric power during the morning, to carry a flashlight in case of an emergency... In short all evil for having paid 110 thousand pesos per day. Zero respect and attention by the guest. If not had traveled 700 Km to get up there and not have planned a few hopeful days of relaxation with the family, I would have gone the same day. I suggest to stay at any other place and go for the day to enjoy the beach. The very bad state cabins, zero maintenance and exorbitant value

  • We went to this beach as part of the circuit of beaches in the region of Atacama in which are really beautiful beaches away from the hand of man. In this case to get to beach Virgin from the coastal road access are plus minus 7 kms from a way horribly in bad condition, even in vehicle 4 x 4 is unpleasant by constant vibration. I recommend making it slow to preserve mental health. Arriving at the famous beach the Virgin there is the possibility to park for free close to the porch and down a rocky but well designated plus minus 2 km road. Arriving at the beach there is the option to Park down there (obviously the more comfortable if you want to enjoy the beach) with a frankly disoriented value of 10.000 Chilean pesos (approximately usd 15) entitled to nothing. We consulted a woman who is in charge if it included something this parking lot as a sunshade or access to the bathroom, absolutely nothing. To my Beach seemed nice but not worth it. By sector there are completely free and much more beautiful beaches. If I had to summarize: - bad access with a road in poor condition - extremely expensive and pointless - pretty silver parking but not of this world
