Playa la virgen, Caldera
(3.8/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Stranded on the coast in the middle of desert dunes and hills, Playa la virgen attracts visitors with its white sand and calm turquoise waters. A bit remote and difficult to access, this pristine beach focuses on ecotourism. Pick a place on a wooden sun lounger under a straw umbrella, or bring your own beach equipment. If you wish to stay overnight, rent one of the wooden cabins in the surrounding hills overlooking the beach. Amenities include public restrooms, a spacious parking lot, and a restaurant. Bring cash and prepare to spend a day without mobile phone service. See Playa la virgen and all Caldera has to offer by arranging your trip with our Caldera vacation route planner.

  • The place is wonderful, with water turquoise and white sands. Remember to take umbrella since already there available to have a bit of shade. Summer tends to be a small kiosk available to buy on the beach, but if you are in the middle of December yet it will not be open so you have to carry water. Anyway in the restaurant above you can buy drinks and food, but you have to bring cash to pay. If you go with a tour this them can leave steps from the sand, otherwise can enter by car with a value of 10,000 pesos or walking outside.

  • Very nice beach. We rented a cabin at 700 meters. The color of the water spectacular and it better that not had almost people. We went in November

  • Beautiful place, I recommend for a complete disconnection (also from the telephone signal) the prettiest Beach between Caldera and Copiapó. I recommend take parasol and get well stocked, since arriving at the place there is nothing to buy. If you are staying in the enclosure to camping I recommend take good for carp because there is much wind and eye with the timetable of the showers, since open them a couple of hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon and no hot water.
