Playa la virgen, Caldera
(3.8/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
Stranded on the coast in the middle of desert dunes and hills, Playa la virgen attracts visitors with its white sand and calm turquoise waters. A bit remote and difficult to access, this pristine beach focuses on ecotourism. Pick a place on a wooden sun lounger under a straw umbrella, or bring your own beach equipment. If you wish to stay overnight, rent one of the wooden cabins in the surrounding hills overlooking the beach. Amenities include public restrooms, a spacious parking lot, and a restaurant. Bring cash and prepare to spend a day without mobile phone service. See Playa la virgen and all Caldera has to offer by arranging your trip with our Caldera vacation route planner.

  • It's nice enough. Spent a day there but nothing to write home about. Water is a bit dirty compared to nearby beaches. Sand is nice and there are nice wooden parasols to relax under. Some nice stray do...  more »
  • Excellent beach for relaxation, sunbathing and disconnected. White Sands, turquoise waters and a wonderful landscape in the Atacama desert. Not of so easy access for which we are not in the region, a tour is the best option I recommend to Ecastour don Jerso makes regional tourism.
