4.5
Explore petroglyphs, pottery, textiles, mummies, and even olives at Museo Momias Chinchorro. Partnered with the university, the museum shows the cultural and anthropological development of the region over the past 10,000 years. The museum is best known for its exhibit on Chinchorro mummies--mummified remains of people of the South American chinchorro culture that lived in Peru and Chile, the world's oldest mummies. • We're not burying the lede here: that's what this place is. The Chinchorros had a hard go of it with life expectancy in the low 30s, largely due to lead poisoning and other hazards of living 7,000 yea...  more »
  • The museum boasts a collection of mummies hammocks, the most ancient of the world as well as different materials which help to understand their culture. But the negative side is that the room where are stored only might be from a Crystal in a frontal way, which only lets you see the first and limited by the reflection of this. (A disappointment if they have some expectations). This problem will be resolved with the next Museum that is to build that you also incorporated much more material that is not currently displayed. Access rate 2,000 pesos and to get there is to go through a rural road of sand and gravel after leaving the road.

  • To get you should take a shared taxi (yellow) on the corner of Chacabuco and Velazquez and by approximately $5u s leaves you at the door of the Museum, which is located at a super affordable price and where there are two rooms in an estate landscaped in the midst of the Azapa Valley invites you to the rest o.En what deserves to the sample of the Chinchorro culture offers ups and downs since in terms of the visual he impresses favorably poor in terms of the amount of the sample is also a must.
