(3.7/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Ascend to Museo Historico y de Armas, a museum exploring Chile’s history in the Pacific War. The museum sits on a 110 m (360 ft) high incline, offering sweeping views over the city skyline and surrounding Pacific Ocean. The museum’s location holds vast significance, marking the site of a crucial battle that took place in 1880, one year into the Pacific War. Tour guides and information are available in both English and Spanish, so don’t worry about bringing a phrase book along. Pay special attention to the plaques placed around the museum by former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. Museo Historico y de Armas is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Arica Edition.

  • It is positioned at the top of the morro de Arica. They charge 1,000 Chilean pesos to enter and others are worth them. It is a sample articles from the time of the war of the Pacific and specifically discussed the making of el Morro. Safety pin in Arica.

  • A very important historical Museum, should have better care with foreign tourists. At that time there was a group of Americans, which was also very difficult to be understood, they could not enter because they did not receive $, I understand that neither in the Eiffel Tower to receive other currency which is not the national, but we must facilitate tourism in Arica.
