The museum sits on a 110 m (360 ft) high incline, offering sweeping views over the city skyline and surrounding Pacific Ocean. The museum’s location holds vast significance, marking the site of a crucial battle that took place in 1880, one year into the Pacific War. Pay special attention to the plaques placed around the museum by former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.
