  • Big heat, a small garden, a very modern building, a nice little Museum, very modern, open recently, and... air conditioned! It presents very beautiful old objects from the region, beautiful pottery, jewelry, ancient mummies, they explained that they were reduced before be mummified a very different technique than the Egyptians, interesting. Wall panels trace the life of the first inhabitants of the region, representative enough and explanatory. Nice hotel and very well put value objects. The Museum will soon expand, we are optimistic about his future.

  • Very small collection of mummies, I think that the majority is at the airport because we saw only two families and 3 skulls, fetuses. The infrastructure is spectacular but the content is what I was disappointed by the poor. Audiovisual material, push a button and hear the contextual account of presented, that complement and enrich the visit would have liked. Brochures. Sale of books. Sale of souvenirs and reproductions. I think missing more information is available, the subject of the mummies goes a long way and Arica whole is a cemetery of the Chinchorro culture.

  • It is very interesting museum that focuses on the hammocks and its culture. It is not a very large travel no more than 40 minutes. Is worth $ 2,000 entry and to go from Arica are some yellow collective departing Patricio Lynch with Chacabuco.

  • This is a nice little museum not too far away from Arica. It's a little difficult to get too as the only major sign points as a dirt road, it's a billboard just before you enter town (if coming from the direction of Arica). The center itself is well kept and the museum that houses the mummies does a good job of showcasing and educating without being overwhelming. Allocate 45 minutes to see everything on display. Note: some of these mummies are on display at the Pre-Colombian Museum in Santiago so if you miss them here make sure you see them there.
  • Good museum with interesting pieces, various still under study, with great references of places in actual Arica. Matches all accessibility requirements on google. Downside is, audio guide is SOLD apart from entry ticket (which cost $2000, about US$3) when in other museums like colon 10 (same university) is offered for free. Sunblock is mandatory and I would recommend bring a bottle of water, there are no stores close and sun heat is high.
  • Excellent space for the community. Much is currently under refurbishment, which have access to few things, yet the Pavilion of the mummies chinchorro worth completely. The Museum gardens are also a nice space to share and to sit and enjoy this little oasis.

  • It is a great anthropological attraction. Within the activities of the North of Chile, this was always a great sign, even far superior the of the Museum you Paige from San Pedro de Atacama. For those who don't like both by the mummies, or the history of pre-Columbian peoples, this can be a place not indicated.
